I got the chief leveling head about a month ago and finally got to really test it out last night and absolutely loved it. I have it in a fatboy tripod. The day after the tripod and leveling head showed up my 11 year old daughter used them to shoot her very first deer at 263 yards. She made the comment that this leveling head takes less pressure to lock it and when it locks it feels sturdier than my old leveling head. Last night I used it to steady my shots on coyotes from 55 yards out to 231 yards and a fox in really heavy snow at 311 yards and the leveling head performed flawless. The built in arca clamp clamps down tight and everything holds tight enough that I clamp my 17lb rifle in it and throw the tripod over my shoulder and walk through the fields with no worries of it falling off. Got the chief leveling head and the commander tripod. First leveling head I’ve ran and is a step above a ball head. Easy to lock up and adjust with little tension.
